High-Tech Market Research

Venture Capital Firm TECHINVEST carries out high-tech industry analysis and promotion to identify and structure technology projects attractive for local and foreign venture capital investors, as well as to promote the Ukrainian high-tech. In 2002, TECHINVEST analyzed 150+ venture investment proposals from Ukrainian companies and R&D institutions.

At the end of 2003 "Market-Visio", an independent international research company of "Gartner Group" conducted first comprehensive market research of the IT-export industry of Ukraine on the order of venture capital firm TECHINVEST. Over 60 companies and business unions were interviewed during the course of the research. The results of the research were presented in a specialized industry report which will also introduces all participating IT companies, experts, and sponsors.

The first results of the research were presented at the November Road-Show of the Ukrainian high-tech companies in the USA and, particularly, at the Ukrainian-American IT Cooperation Forum in Washington D.C. on November 7, 2003. Ukrainian IT-companies participated in this research as: expert, sponsor or participant.

In 2004, a market research of the Ukranian Software Consortium member-companies’ competitiveness on the US outsourcing market was conducted. This research was managed by the Consortium representative office in Silicon Valley.

In 2005, TECHINVEST carried out an annual review of the Ukrainian IT-export market, using the format and pool of over 30 participants from the previous IT-export market research conducted by Market Visio.

According to TECHINVEST data, the growth of the Ukrainian IT export industry market in 2006 went up 75% to USD310 mil from USD175 mil in the previous year. It is expected that this strong growth will continue in 2007 at a rate of 60%. This data does not include the amount of IT export in the unorganized segment of the market.
